WE CARE Hunger Walk

In partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey, a 501c3 ministry, the Diocese of New Jersey Tax ID: 21-0634592 located at 808 W State St., Trenton, NJ 08618-5326, our two-fold mission is to
1. Raise the awareness of the wide-spread impact of food/nutrition poverty within our community, which impacts citizens across all age, gender, ethnic, and surprisingly more economic sectors than one might initially imagine.
2. As such, the related mission objective is to get healthy food, resources, support, and information directly to those in need, as well as to community-based organizations who likewise address hunger.
Here is where and how we need your assistance:
On Saturday, September 17th, the WE CARE Perth Amboy Coalition of Food Pantries will hold our annual walk. The HUNGER Walk avails you the opportunity to fund-raise for hunger for Perth Amboy. This can be done by:
• Sponsoring participants of the walk
• Participating in the HUNGER WALK, securing sponsorship from businesses or private citizens
• Making direct contributions in person, or through the mail to 183 Rector Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861, care of WE CARE
• You can also make a donation by contacting Kathie DeJohn at kdejohn@stpetersepiscopal.com
100% of the funds will go directly to the one of the five pantries that is chosen by the sponsor or walkers.
We are also accepting unopened, nonperishable food items and/or cash donations. Letters of verification of your tax deductable donations are available upon request. You can also call or visit any community food pantry for fliers and additional information.
Thank you, in advance, for helping us combat hunger in our community.
Regards,
Rev. Kathleen DeJohn
Deacon, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church for the We Care Coalition of Food Pantries
